Silk geek

After working for a Korean silk mill called Eyefix for two years, I think I can officially declare myself to be a silk geek! I love working with it, it's so tactile.

This beautiful glass-beaded cap includes a wonderful detail, pleated in silk habotai (a soft, glossy Chinese silk).

Making of

Searching, testing, matching, pinning, and finally stitching. There is a lot of action going on behind the scenes of With Love From Bobbin's grand productions! I like to work organically, giving the materials their own voice within each composition.

I have just hand-sewn this silk rose and I am about to insert a lace appliqué.
